2019 Fred Mitchell Award preseason Watch List announced

The Fred Mitchell Award recognizes 31 place-kickers for their excellence on the football field for the 2019-2020 season and for continued community service during their off-season. As the list grows, so does our pride in these committed young men.  Now our 11th year of presenting the Fred Mitchell Award, the quality of our watch-list members continues to impress.

“We are once again pleased to recognize the many outstanding college kickers and community-minded individuals who have come to the attention of the Fred Mitchell Award selection committee. We will continue to monitor these kickers and others throughout the 2019 season and take note of their achievements,” said Fred Mitchell.

The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December based on performance on the football field and in the community.

The breakdown of the 31 place-kickers is as follows:

  • Collegiate Division – 10 FCS, 9 Division II, 9 Division III, 2 NAIA, and 1 NJCAA
  • State – the place-kickers are from 20 different states (CA (3), CO, FL, GA, ID, IL (2), IN, MA (3), MN, NB, NY, OH (2), SC, TX (2), WA, and WI) and three came from abroad (Saõ Paulo, Brazil, Missisauga, Ont., Canada, and Cabas, France).
