Fred Mitchell Award celebrates placekickers for excellence – 2023 November Watch List

The Fred Mitchell Award recognizes 26 place-kickers for their excellence on the football field and for continued community service throughout the year. It is a pleasure to recognize kickers that were nominated by their schools or are at the top of their division for terrific performances through Nov. 18, 2023 (regular season statistics only).

The recipient of the 2023 Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December. Details are provided on this website, including the award’s focus on excellence on the football field and in the community.

The breakdown of the 26 placekickers is as follows:

  • Collegiate Division – 13 FCS, 4 Division II, 6 Division III, 2 NAIA and 1 NJCAA
  • State – The placekickers play at schools located in 20 different states
  • Year – 16 Seniors, 3 Juniors, 6 Sophomores and 1 Freshmen
