Fred Mitchell Award announces 10 finalists for 2022
The Fred Mitchell Award is proud to recognize top 10 place-kickers for their excellence on the football field and for continued community service throughout the year. “I am very pleased with the quality of kickers who have been selected for our Top 10 finalists for the 2022 Fred Mitchell Award,” Mitchell said. “Our Selection Committee values kicking performance and community service, and our finalists have excelled in those categories.” It is a pleasure to recognize kickers that were nominated by their schools or are at the top of their division for terrific performances through November 19, 2022 (regular season statistics only).
The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December based on performance on the football field and in the community.
The breakdown of the 10 place-kickers is as follows:
- Collegiate Division – 3 FCS, 4 Division II, 1 Division III, 1 NAIA, and 1 NJCAA
- State – The place-kickers play at schools located in 10 different states
- Year – 3 Seniors, 2 Juniors, 4 Sophomores, and 1 Freshman
